Home Visits

doctors_bagIf you are too ill to attend the surgery and need a home visit please try and telephone before 10am. This helps the Doctor to plan his rounds efficiently. If you feel the problem is urgent please tell the receptionists so that they can pass you straight through to the Doctor.

A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

Home visit policy has been recently revisited by the doctors and it has been decided that home visits will generally only be available for the frail elderly or terminally ill patients or those who are bed bound because of illness or disability.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.
